Our story begins with a couple in Italy that decided to pursue the American Dream. When our founders arrived in the US in the later 1940s, Italian food began to grow in popularity. Both worked at an Italian pizza kitchen in New York, hoping to one day start their own. While working there, they noticed that while Italian food was becoming popular, it was vastly different from the foods Americans were accustomed to, and they weren't the only ones. When they started this restaurant in 1952, Italian-American restaurant owners began tailoring food to American likings, such as selling pizza as slices that could be held the way people eat hot dogs or adding chicken to the Italian dish parmigiana. Many Italian restaurants around the nation began growing in popularity after introducing these changes, but there was one thing they didn't have, the Fiery Sauce. An old recipe from the couple's hometown attracted Americans who loved hot sauces such as Tabasco and Frank's Red Hot and garnered attention with the fresh wood-fired pizza made topped with peppers and the signature sauce. This pizza was named Fiery Slice Pizza and became the restaurant's namesake. As Italian-American cuisine evolved with the introduction of new dishes like Buffalo Chicken Wings over the ensuing decades, Fiery Slice Pizzeria kept up with the trends while staying true to its Italian heritage by continuously innovating and bringing fresh and exciting ideas to the table.
